MoA between DBT & UNESCO regarding continuing the recognition of RCB, Faridabad; as a category-II centre in Natural Sciences

  • MoA was signed between the UNESCO and DBT on 11th April, 2018 to further strengthen the cooperation and collaboration.
  • The Agreement was signed by Secretary, DBT & Director, UNESCO, at New Delhi for a period of six years.
  • Regional Centre for Biotechnology is an Institute of National importance established by DBT.
  • UNESCO is continuing the recognition of RCB as a category-II centre in Natural Sciences.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the UNESCO and Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India (GOI) on 11th April, 2018 to further strengthen the cooperation and collaboration between UNESCO & GOI and for continuing the recognition of the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) by UNESCO as a category-II centre in Natural Sciences. Regional Centre for Biotechnology is an Institute of National importance established by DBT through a Parliament Act (RCB, Act 2016) and further promulgated by a Gazette notification effective from March 1, 2017. The Agreement was signed by Secretary, DBT and Director, UNESCO, New Delhi for a period of six years in gracious presence of distinguished personalities.
